Introduction to Manage Patient Status |
The Manage Patient Status functionality is only available to ALERT Developer, System Administrator and Technical Staff user roles. The user will login in under the specific clinic to perform clinic-wide inactivation of patients that meet specific criteria as set out in the filters described below.

Inactivating Patients from a clinic
Age is based on the date the inactive process is generated. Select the patient population to be inactivated by selecting the options described below:

Description |
Patients 9 through 12 years old, no immunization in 5 years |
Selecting this option will inactivate patients that have immunization(s) for the organization, but not in the last 5 years. Note: This will not inactivate patients with no immunizations at all. To inactivate patients with no immunizations for the organization, the custom age range and “Inactive any patients that have no administered immunizations by this clinic” must be selected. This option is selected by default. Note: If user selects custom age range this option will be deselected. |
Patients 13 years or older, no immunizations in 7 years |
Selecting this option will inactivate patients that have immunization(s) for the organization, but not in the last 7 years. Note: This does not include patients with no immunizations at all. To inactivate patients with no immunizations for the organization, the custom age range and “Inactivate any patients that have no administered immunization by this clinic” must be selected. This option is selected by default. Note: If user selects custom age range this option will be deselected. |
Custom Age Range |
This option allows the user to select the “From” and “To” age of a patient to be inactivated. Drop down values are 0 through 125. Selecting this option requires either the “Length of the time since last immunization” or “Inactivate any patients that have no administered immunizations by this clinic” to be selected. If the user selects this option the first two age range options will be deselected. |
Length of the time since last immunization |
This option will inactivate patients that have immunization(s) for the organization, but not in the last “X” years selected in the drop down. Drop down values are 0 through 125. |
Inactivate any patients that have no administered immunizations by this clinic |
Selecting this option will inactivate patients in the custom age range that have no administered immunizations by this clinic. |

Description |
Ignore historical immunizations |
Selecting this check box will exclude all historical values, which are ’01’ – ‘08’ and ‘OU’ where OU has the historical information from outside USA, see CDC table NIP001 Immunization Information Source for further information. The only immunizations included are “administered immunizations”, value “00”. |
Ignore influenza administered by clinic |
Selecting this check box will exclude any immunizations in the influenza vaccine group (influenza seasonal, H1N1 and N5N1) in the calculation for length of time since last immunization. |

Selecting the Start button will generate a preview pop-up window. The Pop-up information will list: Total active patients in the selected age range XX Count of patients to be inactivated: XX Are you sure you want to Inactivate the patients indicated above? The user will have two options, Run or Cancel: Selecting Run will return the user to the Manage Patient Status screen with a message, “Inactivation Successful” and the count of Inactivate patients. Selecting Cancel will return the user to the Manage Patient Status screen, with all the default options selected. |

Selecting the Cancel button will return the user to the home screen. |
